The internet explorer 8 "new tab" page not showing up?

I made the mistake of downloading "Bear Share" and later uninstalled it. Unfortunately it over road the "new tab" page which I quite liked. I looked up how to restore it, but it doesn't work. The Bear Share search page still shows up. How do I fix this?
